Who are we Looking for

Code Breakers

Code Breakers, based in Dendermonde, was established in 2016 and currently consists of Jan Pannecoeck (focussed on Mobile development and the position of Scrum Master) and Lien Van den Broeck (focussed on marketing and communications). As a consultancy we assist our customers in the financial and automotive sectors among others. It’s two years later and we’re ready to take the next step: expanding our team!

External consultants — what does that mean exactly? Well, it goes without saying that you won’t see your Code Breakers colleagues every day, or even every week necessarily. And still, it's our goal to create a close-knit team by holding occasional team meetings on Friday after work (on a sunny terrace with a beer in hand when possible), hosting BBQs in the summer and arranging Christmas markets in the winter. That’s because we believe that work shouldn’t just be work, but should be fun too.

But it's a small team — right? Yes, for the time being the team is limited to the founders and the colleagues we are interested in bringing on board. However, we hope to continue growing at Code Breakers and aim to see our team expand in the long term. A small team also means plenty of space for initiative-taking and transparency.

Roles

Someone who can keep all the plates spinning for the devops teams. (Scrum Master)

You discovered ages ago that Scrum Master is just a fancy way of saying someone who gets the job done, come hell or high water. You keep the plates spinning so that your devops team can focus on what really matters: delivering a high-value, top-notch product.

Since Scrum is still primarily used in IT environments, it's important that you know your way around IT systems without having too much trouble learning a few new tricks along the way. Terms such as test-driven development, Git, Jenkins, REST, WebServices definitely ring a bell and you also know a thing or two about automation. There really isn’t much you don’t know when it comes to tools such as Jira and Confluence. Switching into English or French when it's needed should also come easily to you.

But it’s not just your professional experience that counts: your personality makes a real difference to us. Is team spirit a top priority for you? Are you willing to go the extra mile to keep your customer happy? Can we count on you delivering your timesheets to us on time? Do you greet all your colleagues with a smile and a “How's it going?”, from the cleaning lady up to the CEO? Will you remember to throw away your own used coffee pad? Do you occasionally like a beer on Friday after work (or maybe 2...)?

Mobile or Java developer

Your first experience as a developer is already behind you, and you’re keen to get started working as a consultant for our customers. As a software developer you’re current on all the latest technological trends in your field, whether it's the latest features in iOS 12 or setting up a serverless cloud backend. We expect you to be more than just a developer. Your mission also includes assisting and advising our customers where they need it. Switching into English or French when it's needed should also come easily to you.

The package

Joining our team means a company car, laptop, smartphone, hospitalization and group insurance from our end. Code Breakers is all about training and development. That's why we also provide an annual training budget that you can use to learn about and develop the skills you’re interested in. Naturally the package includes a competitive salary too. Work-life balance is important to us, which also means we take care of 20 days of paid leave, supplemented with 12 WTR days.

So we haven’t put you off just yet? Even better, you’re actually pretty interested? If that’s the case, send us your CV at jan@codebreakers.be and tell us exactly why you want to work for us. We promise to call you within a week to get acquainted. If all goes well, we'll invite you over for an interview.
